Jennie married John G. Davis on 16 October 1908 at New Martinsville, Wetzel County, West Virginia. D. L. Ash, a minister, certified that he united the couple in marriage.3

Jennie's life was far from being an easy one - her husband had her institutionalized at Weston State Hospital shortly before she turned 35 - and she was there until she died at the age of 78. A detailed account of her life can be found on Denise Murphy's blog, Living in the Past.4

Jennie died at age 78 from a cerebral hemorrhage due to cerebral arteriosclerosis on 26 February 1963.1 Jennie's body was interred on 28 February 1963 in the Thomas Chapel Cemetery, Wetzel County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Jennie Davis." The inscription reads, "1884-1963."1
