At age 14, Dale died on 23 August 1938 at Lumberport, Harrison County, West Virginia. The principal cause of death was acute rheumatic fever.1,3 He was interred on 25 August 1938 in the Pisgah Church Cemetery, 2718 Smithtown Road, Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia.1
