Logsdon, Harry Burdett, Sr., 71, of Moundsville, WV died Monday, October 16, 2006 in the Carriage Inn Nursing Home, Cadiz, Ohio.

He was born January 26, 1935 in Moundsville, a son of the late Arthur B. and Doris L. West Logsdon. He was a retired 20 year US Navy veteran having served in the Korean and Vietnam War, a retired employee of CSX, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 437 and a member of the American Legion, Earl Francis Post #3, both of Moundsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, William Arthur Logsdon; his father-in-law, Austin W. Long, a brother-in-law John Buecke.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Donna M. Long Logsdon; a son, Harry B. “J.R.” Logsdon, Jr. and his wife Pam of Moundsville; two daughters, DeNita Watters and her husband Joseph of Oklahoma City, OK; Michelle Dunlap and her husband Harold of Cadiz, Ohio; two brothers, Ralph “LeRoy” Logsdon of Moundsville and Charles “Tommy” Logsdon of Michigan; one sister, L. Juanita Buecke of Moundsville; his mother-in-law, Rosella Long of Moundsville; five grandchildren, Jessica, Nicole and Steven Logsdon, Corey and Haley Dunlap.

Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV, where services will be held at 11:00 am. Friday, October 20, 2006 with Rev. Debbie Dague officiating. Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville, WV, with military graveside services conducted by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.

At age 60, Sarah died on 24 July 1846.2 Interred in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia, her name appears on the gravestone as "Sarah McGary." An additional inscription reads, "departed this life July 24, 1846, Aged 60 Yrs 9 days." Probably said "She" in front of departed.2

According to the obituary of her daughter, Frances, she was apparently also known as Maude.4

Roberta married Benjamin T. "Ben" Terrill, son of Thomas Sherman Terrill and Agnes Harris, on 3 November 1900 in Marshall County, West Virginia. George Franklin certified that he united them in marriage at his residence.3 Per Glen R. Harris, Bertie was from Wayman's Ridge.5

At age 74, Roberta died on 7 June 1957 at RD#1, Waynesburg Pike, Marshall County, West Virginia.2 Bertie's body was interred on 10 June 1957 in the Fork Ridge Universalist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia. Her name reportedly appears on the gravestone as "Birdie J. Terrill."2
