At age 67, John died from lobar pneumonia on 18 March 1937 in R.D. 2, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.^2,4 He was interred on 20 March 1937 in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia; his name appears on the gravestone as "John A. McGary." The inscription reads, "Father."^2,5

Although her birth was registered in Marshall County, West Virginia, the record states that she was actually born in Ohio ... the informant was her mother and she would certainly have known!²

Although her death certificate indicated that Maud was born on 15 July 1870 West Virginia, I believe that info to be in error. A record made at the time of an event is much more likely to be correct than one made years later.³

Another spelling of her first name is Maude.^4,5

Maud married John A. McGary, son of Arthur McGary and Louisa Perkins, on 3 October 1895 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. A. E. Barnes certified that he united them in marriage at his residence.⁵

At age 76, Maud died from cardiac failure due to cardio-vascular renal disease on 26 April 1947 at Glen Dale Hospital (now Reynolds Memorial Hospital), Glen Dale, Marshall County, West Virginia.^4,3 She was interred on 29 April 1947 in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Maud F. McGary." The inscription reads, "Mother."⁶

Roy's first marriage was to Delores Alma Miller on 24 June 1939 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. As Delores was only 19 years old, consent was given by Mrs. Mike Miller. L. E. Resseger, a Minister of the Methodist Church, certified that he united them in marriage.²

His second marriage was to Ruth Virginia Kittle on 1 September 1945 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. J. H. Carson, a minister of the Calvary Methodist Church, certified that he united them in marriage.³

At age 69, Roy died in January 1974.⁴ He was interred in 1974 in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia; his name appears on the gravestone as "Roy L. McGary." The inscription reads, "Roy L. McGary father and Ruth V. McGary mother."⁵

I have two men named Jesse Anderson in my database: one with ID# 176, the other #233. I suspect that these two are actually the same man, but have not yet been able to confirm it. See my blog post about Jesse Anderson for more details about my theory.

To complicate the issue I have two men named Jesse Anderson in my database: one with ID#176, whose wife's name is reportedly Angeline (Rachel's parents); the other is ID#233 whose wife is reported to be Anna (Maggie's parents).
