Anna E. Gill1,2

ID#2658, b. about 1855, d. 19 May 1913
The death register shows Anna E. Dobbs on one line followed by Elizabeth Gill Dobbs on the next line. The two women are actually one woman - both entries have identical birth dates. Anna's death was reported by the undertaker; Elizabeth's by the physician. Comparison of facts: Anna, a housewife, born near Glen Easton, died from gangrene; Elizabeth, a farmer's wife, born on Nauvoo Ridge, died from tuberculosis. Records for her son, Jasper Nelson Dobbs, reflect the following: his birth shows his mother as Anna E. Dobbs; his death shows his mother's maiden name as Elizabeth Gill. The death certificate for her husband, William Henry Dobbs, shows that his residence was on Nauvoo Ridge, and that his mailing address was R.D. 1, Glen Easton - an explanation of the different locations reported by the undertaker and physician.3,4
