Bathsheba McMillan1,2

ID#2798, b. November 1878, d. 1962
Parents: James McMillon and D. E. Black

Birth date: November 1878
Birth place: Calhoun County, West Virginia.3,4,2

The inconsistencies of the spelling of the mother's name are interesting: the births of several children to Silas and Bathsheba Fairbee appear on a single birth register index page, yet the spelling of Bathsheba's name vary widely for each child:
     Bercheba Fairbee
     Sheba Fairbee
     Shibby McMellan
     Shiby McMillan
Bathsheba Fairbee (orig. said Charlotte but was lined out)
     Bathasheba Fairbee
     Bethsheba Fairbee
It seems likely that the "Charlotte" error stemmed from the name of Silas' mother being Charlotte per the 1910 Federal census.4,1

Bathsheba married Silas Fairbee on 6 October 1896 in Calhoun County, West Virginia.3

Bathsheba died in 1962.2 She was interred in the Drakesburg Cemetery, Drakesburg, Portage County, Ohio.2

Eathel Church1

ID#2814, b. 12 August 1908, d. May 1991
Father: Lewis Whetzel Church
Mother: Josephine McMasters

Birth date: 12 August 1908.
Birth place: near Bannon, Wetzel County, West Virginia.2

The online image of the Birth Index for Wetzel County shows that twins were born to L. W. and Josephine Church on 12 August 1908, one female named Ethael, and one male with no name given The odd thing was that I could not find evidence of a male twin anywhere else; however two different census years indicated that the twins were both female. The 1910 U.S. census includes Ethel and Eithel, both with an age of one year eight months, in the household of Louis [sic] Church3 The 1920 U.S. census includes 11 year olds Ethel and what looks like Ethele in the household of Lewis Church4 My conclusion is that there was simply a typographical error in the birth index: an "M" that should have been a "F" for the child with no name. The index should have indicated that two females were born on 12 August 1908.

Eathel married Jesse J. Crow on 28 March 1936 at Littleton, Wetzel County, West Virginia.1

Jesse and Eathel were apparently divorced some time between 1936 and 1947 as he was divorced at the time of his death in 1952 and Eathel had married another man in 1947.5

Her second marriage was to Burnzo Leichliter on 31 May 1947 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. Edward Michael Flanagan, a Minister of the Presbyterian Church, certified that he united the couple in marriage.5

Eathel was listed as the informant on the death certificate of her father, Lewis Whetzel Church, dated 17 May 1955. Interestingly, her first name (in what I assume is her signature rather than someone else's handwriting) is written without the "a" - i.e. as Ethel vs. Eathel. Her surname was Leighliter on that document.6

At age 82, Eathel died in May 1991.7
