It has also been reported that her name was Annie Irene. I believe that Annie was simply a nickname for Anna. As for her middle name, Irene is very similar to two spellings I have seen: Arena and Arina.3

Her name has also been read as Annie L. from her gravestone - perhaps an "I" for Irene was misread as an "L"? More research is needed to clear up all the questions.5

Anna married John Wesley "J. W." Church, son of William S. "Bill" Church and Elizabeth Jane "Betsy" Roberts, on 15 September 1888 in Calhoun County, West Virginia. The ceremony was performed by Jesse B. Poling.4

She became a widow at age 76 when John died on 28 December 1949.6

Annie died at age 92 from a stroke (occlusion of brain vessel) due to cerebral arteriosclersis on 21 February 1966 at Calhoun General Hospital, Grantsville, Calhoun County, West Virginia. The informant listed on Annie's death certificate was her daughter, Luerna Robinson.3 Annie's body was interred in the Sand Ridge Cemetery, Calhoun County, West Virginia.3,5
