Rachel married James Aston, son of Owen J. Aston and Mary Creighten, on 10 February 1858 in Marshall County, Virginia. David Anguish certified that he united them in marriage.6

Rachel died at age 61 on 31 October 1900.2 Rachel's body was interred in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Rachel J. Aston."2,7
