Matilda died from old age on 12 November 1889 at Knoxville, Marshall County, West Virginia.2 Matilda's body was interred in the Fork Ridge Universalist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Matilda Terrill."3
