Alexander married Arizona "Zona" Taylor, daughter of Adaline B. "Lina Bell" Taylor, on 29 September 1906 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. W. D. Reed, pastor, certified he united them in marriage at Calvary M. E. Church.2,3

Alexander died at age 53 from an abcess lung on 13 October 1932 at R.D. 1, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia.4 Alexander's body was interred on 16 October 1932 in the Salem Church of Christ Cemetery, Bowman Ridge, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; The inscription reads, "Alexander's death certificate states that he was buried at "Bowman" which was the location of the cemetery rather than the cemetery name."4,5
