Clara died at age 90 on 14 March 1961 at Glen Dale Hospital (now Reynolds Memorial Hospital), Glen Dale, Marshall County, West Virginia. According to her sister, Letha Allen, who was the informant listed on her death certificate, Clara had never married.3 Clara's body was interred on 16 March 1961 in the Fork Ridge Universalist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Clara M. Harris."3
