Mont Long1

ID#2492, b. October 1873
Father: not yet identified
Mother: not yet identified

Birth date: October 1873 (month per 1900 census).
Birth place: Jackson County, West Virginia.2

As Mont was recorded as single in the 1900 federal census, his first marriage apparently happened after 01 June 1900. That marriage to a woman not yet identified ended in divorce.2,3

His second marriage was to Florence Esta Smith on 3 August 1906 in Roane County, West Virginia. M. L. Sovil certified that he united them in marriage at the residence of Salatiel Starcher. Apparently the marriage ended in divorce as each of them is listed as "divorced" on the records of subsequent marriages.1,2

Mont and Florence were divorced after a short marriage; she is listed as divorced on the license for her second marriage in 1914.4
