Birth place: Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.2

Leroy married Helen Leona Dobbs, daughter of Clarence William Dobbs and Leona B. Harris, on 24 December 1953 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. Samuel M. Zonker, a Minister of the Reorg. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, certified that he united them in marriage.1

Leroy died at age 27 a gunshot wound to the head on 5 February 1960 at Ohio Valley General Hospital, Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It is stated on the death certificate that, "Pt. is said to have shot himself near Moundsville Marshall W. Va."1 Leroy's body was interred on 8 February 1960 in the Nauvoo Ridge LDS Cemetery, Nauvoo Ridge, Marshall County, West Virginia; his name appears on the gravestone as "Leroy Leek, West Virginia, SP2 US Army, Sept 23 1932 - Feb 5 1960."1,3
