John Franklin Harris1

ID#332, b. 19 December 1841, d. 25 May 1926
Father: John Harris Jr.
Mother: Lucy Ann Terrill

Birth date: 19 December 1841
Birth place: (West) Virginia.1 Alternatively, he would have been born in 1847 if the age of 28 on his marriage record is correct.2

John married Margaret "Maggie" Ingram, daughter of Silas Ingram and Hannah Phillipps, on 10 February 1876 T. B. Hughs, a minister, certified that he united them in marriage at the home of Silas Ingram.2

John died at age 84 from bronchial pneumonia on 25 May 1926 at Fork Ridge, Marshall County, West Virginia. Carcinoma of the face is listed as a contributory factor to the cause of death.1 John's body was interred in the Fork Ridge Universalist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; his name appears on the gravestone as "John F." The inscription reads, "Co. L. 4 Reg. W. Va. Cav." Although his surname doesn't appear on his stone, he is located in a family plot next to his wife - her stone says she is the wife of John F. Harris.3
