Birth place: Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.1,2 It has also been reported that Jack was born on 7 July 1918.3

Jack married Opal Maurine "Pat" Stewart, daughter of Orrin Homer Stewart and Elizabeth Virginia "Bess" Harris, on 15 March 1947 at Cameron, Marshall County, West Virginia. A. J. McCloy, minister of the Big Run Christian Church, certified that he united them in marriage.1

Jack died at age 75 on 6 May 1994.2,3 Jack's body was interred in the Fork Ridge Christian Church Cemetery, 8681 Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; his name appears on the gravestone as "Jack Lautar." The inscription reads, "Father."4
