Joseph Summers1

ID#38, b. 24 April 1845, d. 25 June 1925
Joseph Summers
Father: David Summers
Mother: possibly Phoebe Williams

Birth date: 24 April 1845.2 It has also been reported that Joseph was born on 24 May 1845. As this date appears on his death certificate for which the undertaker was the informant, it is more likely to be incorrect than the date supplied by Joseph when he was married.3
Birth place: Monongalia County, West Virginia.4

Alternatively, Joseph's birthplace per the death certificate for his daughter, Matilda, appears as "Tylor County" which could be a misspelling of Tyler or Taylor County. It looks like it initially said Taylor but was changed to Tylor.5

Joseph married Martha E. Matthew, daughter of William K. Matthew and Mary "Nancy" Murphy, on 12 June 1865 at Fetterman, Taylor County, West Virginia.4
