Lela married Homer Leach, son of Oscar Leach and Emily Alice Cunningham, on 24 November 1934 at Wellsburg, Brooke County, West Virginia. B. D. Evans, a minister, certified that he united them in marriage.5

She became a widow at age 61 when Homer died on 10 November 1973.1,7,8

Lela died at age 77 on 8 February 1989 in Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.2,1 Lela's body was interred in the Fork Ridge Christian Church Cemetery, 8681 Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Lela E. Leach." The inscription reads, "Mother."9
