Francis's body was interred in the Fork Ridge Universalist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; his name appears on the gravestone as "Lieut. Francis Harris." The inscription reads, "Co. L. 4 W. Va. Cav."2

Birth date: about 1836.1,3 It has also been reported that Francis was born in 1835.4

Commonly known as Frank per a handwritten note found by another Harris researcher.5

Francis reportedly married Lucinda Aojelo.6

It is estimated that Francis died after 1 June 1900 based on the following rationale: his mother, Nancy Agnes Harris, reportedly had 5 of 6 children still living per the 1900 U.S. census; brother John A. had died in 1894.7
