David married Rosa Belle Rulong, daughter of John Rulong and Emeline S. Bartlett, on 8 December 1878 at Ryerson Station, Greene County, Pennsylvania. J. C. Booher, Esq. (Justice of the Peace), united them in marriage.3

David died at age 89 on 31 December 1942 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.4 David's body was interred in the Fork Ridge Universalist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; his name appears on the gravestone as "David Harris."5
