Birth date: about 18 November 1829 Date of birth calculated from his age at death: 82 years, 2 months, 4 days.2 However, his reported age of 27 when he was married would require his birth be in 1826 vs. 1829.3 Additional research is needed to determine the correct year.
Birth place: Glen Easton, Ohio County, Virginia.2

John married Emily Dobbs, daughter of August "Auger" Dobbs and Margaret (unknown), on 17 August 1854 in Marshall County, Virginia. A. A. Reger certified that he united them in marriage at the residence of Auger Dobbs, the bride's father.3

John died from senile debility on 22 January 1912 in Marshall County, West Virginia.4
