On 31 July 1926 in Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania, Margaret applied for a marriage license with Bernard Albert Knecht, son of John Adam Knecht and Helen Elizabeth Homan.2 It has also been reported that they were married in Cincinnati, Ohio, on that same date,4,5 but that raises questions having found the application for a license issued in Pennsylvania. Perhaps the confusion stems from the fact that Bernard's parents lived in Cincinnati at the time. On the other hand, the Pennsylvania license states that both Bernard and Margaret were living in Moundsville, West Virginia, which was her hometown and where her mother, Hattie, still lived. Considering that Hattie had opposed my grandparents marriage (my grandfather was Margaret's brother), I wonder if Hattie might have also opposed this marriage. That could explain a marriage in the groom's home city rather than the bride's.

Margaret died at age 83 on 14 May 1984 at Greene Memorial Hospital, Xenia, Greene County, Ohio.6,7 She has also been reported to have died on 12 May 1984.4
