Guiseppe's surname was spelled Seranelli on the passenger list when he immigrated to the United States.3

Giuseppe's first marriage was to Mary Alfieri, daughter of Frank Alfieri and Angelina (unknown), on 9 April 1917 at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. Peter Flynn, a minister of the Catholic church, certified that he celebrated the rites of marriage.4

He became a widower at age 26 when Mary died from pulmonary tuberculosis on 10 January 1922.5

Note that Joseph's name was "Giuseppe Serenelli" when he emigrated from Naples, Italy, but he was known as Joseph Serenella by the time he and Edith Kuhn obtained a marriage license. They applied for the license on 14 June 1926 in Monongalia County, West Virginia.2

His second marriage was to Edith Kuhn, daughter of Nikolaus Kuhn and Mary Mayer, on 15 June 1926 at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia. Rev. Peter Flynn of the Catholic Church certified that he united them in marriage.2

He became a widower for the second time when Edythe died in 1928.6

Joseph died at age 80 in February 1976.
