On 6 December 1949 in Marshall County, West Virginia, Dorothy applied for a marriage license with Philip L. Kuhn, son of Herbert Samuel Kuhn and Nellie Belle Church. Consent for issuance of the license was given by "Father and Mother of Female" as Dorothy was only 19 years old. The authorization to marry was signed 12 December 1949 by J. Randall Crow, Clerk of the County Court.1

Dorothy married Philip Lee "Phil" Kuhn, son of Herbert Samuel Kuhn and Nellie Belle Church, on 16 December 1949 at Cameron, Marshall County, West Virginia. Ister West, a minister of the Christian Church, certified that he united them in marriage.1

On 6 August 2004 at age 73, Dorothy died at home (Tunnel Ridge, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia.)3,5,2

An obituary was published on 9 August 2004 the News Register, Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.2

A memorial service for Dorothy was conducted on 10 August 2004 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia, with Rev. Kenneth Ullom officiating.2,3 Dorothy's body was interred on 10 August 2004 in the Fork Ridge Christian Church Cemetery, 8681 Fork Ridge Road, Glen Easton, Marshall County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Dorothy M. Kuhn."2,3
