Alma married Roylance B. Wood on 14 February 1946 in Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. I. Clifford Bucy, a minister of the Disciples of Christ or Christian Church, certified that he united them in marriage.2

She was employed for many years by Fostoria Glass Company in Moundsville.1

At age 85, Alma died on 16 June 2010 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, Ohio County, Virginia.1 An online obituary was published on 17 June 2010 by the CARE Funeral & Cremation Service.1 The following is a transcription of that obituary:

"Alma May Wood, 85, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Ohio Valley Medical Center.

She was born July 30, 1924 in Marshall Co., WV the daughter of the late Isaac and Dessie Harris Hill

She was Christian by faith and a member of the Fork Ridge Christian Church.

She retired from the Fostoria Glass Company after many years of faithful service.  She most enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother Elma Hill; her loving husband Roylance Wood; an infant daughter Anita May Wood; 4 brothers Robert, Kenneth and Samuel Hill and Wendell Foster; and 2 sisters Laura Crowe and Helen Hipkins.

She is survived by her 2 sons Arden (Pauline) Wood of Cameron and Gerald (Cindy) Wood of Dallas, WV; a daughter Teressa (Dusty) Willis of Moundsville; 2 Brothers Tom (Betty) Hill of Moundsville and William (Bea) Hill of Houston, TX; a sister Elnor (Harry) Lilly of Aurora OH; and 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces  and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 2 – 4 p.m. and from 6 – 8 p.m. at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service, 1500 Second Street, Moundsville, WV.  Services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Mark Mills will officiate.

Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery on Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville.  A luncheon will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Cameron Baptist Church in Cameron, WV.

A memorial service for Alma was conducted on 19 June 2010 at CARE Funeral & Cremation Service, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.4 Following a graveside service, Alma's body was interred on 19 June 2010 in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia.1
