baby Wallace died on 19 March 1878 at Long Drain Run, Littleton, Wetzel County, West Virginia. The 3-month-old infant died along with her mother, Mary (Roberts) Wallace, and cousin, Mary Church. All three were brutally murdered by the infant's uncle, John Wallace.3,2 She has also been reported to have died on 21 March 1878, but this date is incorrect per Mary Church's gravestone and various newspaper accounts of their murder.2,3

This is confirmed by her tombstone which states that she was only 11 days old.2,1 She was interred in the Thomas Chapel Cemetery, Wetzel County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Infant Church, d/o WS & E, 22 Jun 1869, 11 das."2
