Birth date: 28 April 1910.1 The birthdate that appears on her gravestone says that she was born on the 26th of April rather than the 28th, but it is believed that the birth register would reflect the date most likely to be accurate.3
Birth place: Lower Bowman Ridge, Marshall County, West Virginia.1

Commonly known by her middle name, Gertrude.3,2

Roxie married Lewis Alfred "Lew" Aston Sr., son of Charles Gibson Aston and Cancedella "Della" McGary, on 28 October 1930 at Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia. C. A. Plum, a Minister in the Church of Christ, certified that he united them in marriage.4

As of 25 September 1931, Gertrude and Lewis lived at R.D. 3, Glen Easton. That address was in Marshall County, West Virginia. Also living there: Mary Rose Aston.5

At age 32, Roxie died on 7 April 1943 in Marshall County, West Virginia.2,6 She was interred in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fork Ridge Road, Moundsville, Marshall County, West Virginia; her name appears on the gravestone as "Roxie Gertrude Aston." The inscription reads, "Wife."3
