Malissa married William Ross Church, son of Hugh Church and Sarah (unknown), on 1 September 1898 in Calhoun County, West Virginia.1

At age 65, Malissa died from carcinoma of uterus on 29 December 1940 at Revere, Gilmer County, West Virginia.3 She was interred on 30 December 1940 in the Revere, Gilmer County, West Virginia.3
