Della Maude Pierce1,2

ID#1408, b. 9 May 1884, d. 7 February 1952
Father: not yet identified, but reportedly born in Ohio.3,2
Mother: not yet identified, but reportedly born in Ohio.3,2

Birth date: 9 May 1884
Birth place: Roane County, West Virginia.4,1

Maiden name of Longfellow given on the death certificate of one of her daughters. There is a connection that I have not yet discovered as her marriage took place at the residence of Winfield Longfellow.5 On Della's death certificate, the names of her parents are both reported as "unknown," but there is a note that her father was an orphan. I suspect that these three things tie together to explain why a maiden name of Longfellow was given for Della when the preponderance of evidence supports it being Pierce.1

Della married Daniel Colonel Church, son of William S. "Bill" Church and Elizabeth Jane "Betsy" Roberts, on 29 December 1906 in Roane County, West Virginia. A. O. Rhodes certified that he united them in marriage.

As of 12 September 1918, Della and Daniel lived with their children at Cremo, Calhoun County, West Virginia.6

At age 67, Della died on 7 February 1952 in Athens County, Ohio.1 She was interred on 10 February 1952 in the Coolville Cemetery, Coolville, Athens County, Ohio.1
