Elizabeth Johns1,2

ID#2705, b. about 1806
Father: reportedly William Johns
Mother: reportedly Sarah Wood3,4

Birth date: about 1806 (based on age of 22 at time of marriage)5,4 or 1807.6 The 1860 federal census shows Elizabeth's age as 85 which is presumed to be an error as that would mean she was born circa 1775. Based on her reported ages of 43 in 1850 and 64 in 1870, she should have been in her mid 50's in 1860.7

Birth place: Pendleton County, Virginia.6 Per the 1860 census, Elizabeth was born in Highland County, Virginia, indicating a likelihood that she was born in southern Pendleton County. Highland County was formed in 1847 from the southern part of Pendleton County and the northern part of Bath County.7

Elizabeth married William Clark Church, son of Henry "Old Hundred" Church and Hannah Keine, on 3 April 1828 in Pendleton County, Virginia.1

Sarah Jane Roberts1,2

ID#2710, b. 11 June 1859, d. 17 February 1925
Father: Alexander H. "Alec" Roberts
Mother: Lavina Ellen Ensminger

Birth date: 11 June 1859
Birth place: Wetzel County, Virginia.2,3

Emma Jones is listed as the maiden name of Sarah's mother on Sarah's death certificate. The informant on the death certificate is given as John Brookover, which I assume was Sarah's son. I have found no other info regarding an Emma Jones, but it's interesting to note that the maiden name of Sarah's paternal grandmother was Margaret Jones.3

Sarah married Abraham P. Brookover (Jr.?) on 16 June 1878 in Wetzel County, West Virginia. Samuel Hanen, a minister of the Christian Church, certified that he united them in marriage at Mrs. Roberts', the bride's mother.1

At age 65, Sarah died on 17 February 1925 at Anderson, Madison County, Indiana.3 She was buried on 20 February 1925 Anderson, Madison County, Indiana.3
